Amy Constance “Connie” Criss Holly joined her Savior in Heaven at 76 years old on June 10th at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, Connie will be remembered fondly and missed with a smile.
She was the wife of the late Cyrus “Cy” Edward Holly, and together the two shared 35 years of a loving and dedicated marriage.
Connie was born May 26, 1945 in Harvey, WV to the late Ebb and Amy L. Allen Criss.
Connie worked as a teacher in Fayette County for over 30 years. She spent the majority of her career teaching English/Language Arts at Collins Middle School alongside her husband.
Connie truly loved her job and made lifelong friends with her fellow staff members, students, and athletes.
Later in life Connie was lead to serve as pastor of Harvey Chapel United Methodist Church where she lovingly and faithfully taught her congregation about serving the Lord. Her faith in Jesus Christ was the most important part of her life. She also enjoyed reading, solving puzzles, furthering her knowledge, and most of all, spending time with friends and family. She will be remembered for her jolly, optimistic, and open-minded spirit.
Connie was always a ray of sunshine and extended warmth and understanding to everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cyrus Edward Holly; brothers, Levi Criss and Roger Criss; and sisters, Doris E. Criss, Velma Bowling, and Mary Lou Sullivan.
Connie is survived by her two daughters, Michelle Leigh Holly of Oak Hill and Jessica Renee’ Holly Floyd and husband Bret of Oak Hill, and grandchildren, Jordyn, Noah, Ryleigh, and Landon Floyd; sisters, Lois Robinson and Phyllis Sullivan; sisters-in law, Susan Olson (Roger) and JoAnn Criss Krecji (Larry); as well as a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many beloved friends.
Services will be on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill. Burial will be follow High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill, WV. Friends may call from 11:00 am until service time.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Harvey Chapel United Methodist Church, 127 Pine Avenue, Oak Hill, WV 25901.
Those planning to attend should use proper COVID 19 precautions by wearing masks and observing social distancing of 6 feet.
