Columbus Amon Stanley

Columbus Amon Stanley, 87, of Bud Mountain, WV, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, June 16, 2025 at Wyoming Healthcare Center, New Richmond, following a short illness. 

Born August 17, 1937, at Bud Mountain, he was the son of the late Hobert and Rosa (Bishop) Stanley. 

Amon enjoyed connecting with others, especially his family and friends and had an inquisitive personality. He loved being outdoors, especially working in his garden, gathering firewood, being on his riding lawn mower, and walking his dogs. Amon faithfully attended the Guyandotte Baptist Church, Bud Mountain. 

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his siblings, Harrison Ted Stanley, Rosalyn Whitt, Ramona Cordell, and Lee Roy Stanley; brother-in-laws, Robert Hylton, Amon Rowe, Roosevelt Whitt, and Curtis Cordell; sister-in-laws, Betty Stanley, Debra Stanley, and Karen Stanley. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings, Hobert Lewis Stanley of Beckley, Jonathon Stanley and his wife, Mary of Fellows, CA, Joyce Hylton, and Martha Rowe both of Bud Mountain; his best friend, Roger Colbird of Bud Mountain; and a multitude of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. 

Graveside service and burial will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 20, 2025 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley with Elder Nathan Lane officiating. 

For those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery. 

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
