Charles Eugene Evans, Sr.

Charles Eugene Evans, Sr., 82, of Scarbro passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.

Born February 1, 1943 in Sanger, WV he was the son of the late Ben and Myrtle Tincher Evans.

Charles retired from working in the coal mines, and was a member of the New Life Victory Center Church in Hilltop, WV. In his leisure he enjoyed going to flea markets, restoring old tractors, and he loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Burgess Evans; and brothers and sisters.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his loving son, Charles Evans, Jr. (Rebecca); 4 grandchildren, Chuck Evans, Travis Evans, Megan Moats (Shane), and Cody Evans; and 5 great grandchildren, Cade, Allie, Kacen, Kegan, and Colin.

Visitation for friends will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Pastor Terry Damron officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Oak Hill.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
