Charles William Crawford

Charles William Crawford, 79, of Hilltop passed away on Monday, December 29, 2025 at CAMC Memorial in Charleston, WV.

Born September 23, 1946 in Richwood, WV he was the son of the late Thomas Dale and Callie Susan Wiekle Crawford.

Charles enjoyed watching Westerns, fishing by the river in the sunshine, being outdoors, and tinkering with lawnmowers, chainsaws, and anything he could get his hands on to take apart to see how it worked. He especially enjoyed the process of tinkering even if he failed he kept doing it until he got things done right. Charles was a simple man who appreciated the simple things in life and never forgot his mother's beans and cornbread and fried taters that he loved to eat, he enjoyed eating his candy and drinking his pop as cold Coke to be exact. Charles held a special place in the lives of his family and in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Crawford; and siblings, Letha Williams, Lee Crawford, and Carvel Crawford.

Those left to cherish his memory include niece and nephews, Jackie Crawford, Ernest Crawford, Shelley Crawford, Charlene Crawford, Johnny Crawford, Jeremy Crawford, and Beth Crawford; and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 12 Noon on Sunday, January 4, 2025 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Pastor Randy McQuire officiating. Interment will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Oak Hill. 

Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Oak Hill on Sunday, January 4, 2025.
