Charles Wilford Allen

Charles Wilford Allen, 95, of Oak Hill, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at the Ansted Center, Ansted. 

Born September 2, 1928 at Hinton, he was the son of the late Harry and Nettie (Wygal) Allen. 

Charles was a construction engineer. In his leisure he enjoyed golfing, bowling, reading, avid mountaineer fan, and  was a great Father. 

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Ann Dawson Allen; two brothers, Jerry Allen and Billy Allen; and one sister, Ruby Marsh. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his three children, Charles E. "Chuck" Allen (Lynette) , Stephanie Allen, and Jennifer Pearce; grandchildren, Brittini Babb (Phillip), Heather Gallo (Nicholas), Amber Parker (Brady), and Nicholas Pearce; and numerous great grandchildren. 

Services will be 1:00 P.M., Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Pastor Richard Allen officiating. 

Friends may call one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home. 

In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated following the service.
