Carol Sue Stone Underwood, 82, of Oak Hill WV passed away Saturday September 15, 2018 at Raleigh General Hospital due to a sudden illness.
Born April 29, 1936 in Eccles WV, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Catherine Stanley Stone.
Carol was a devoted wife, loving mother, homemaker and faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Hill.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Charles C. Underwood.
The family who will continue her and Charles’s legacy are daughter, Patrice Underwood; son, Mark(Angie) Underwood; grandson, Cameron Underwood; granddaughter, Casey(Eric) Riley; stepson, Charlie(Nan) Underwood and including two step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley(Swanson) Stone and Dorothy Hartshorn; brother, Jim Stone; sister-in-law, Eunice Janney; niece, Euna Lee Janney (Carl) Conley; several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and friend, Carl Walton.
Friends may call for visitation Saturday September 22nd at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill from 5pm to 7pm. The funeral service will be Sunday September 23rd at 1:30pm at the Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Hill.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials in honor of Carol be directed to Samaritan's Purse, www.samaritanspurse.org
