A quiet and gentle soul has winged his way to heaven. He came to know God because he had met the devil. His struggle long as temptation would overtake. His time on earth was cut short but his love and goodness will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew him.
He was an underground coalminer/roof-bolter and he loved that work. He also was a foreman and climber for various tree companies in the area. Currently employed by Critchley Logging LLC of Danese, Wv.
He enjoyed reading and recently started reading the bible. He had several hobbies he also enjoyed fishing, nascar racing, video games, and riding motorcycle's. In his spare time he would be outdoors harvesting ginseng, yellowroot, and mushrooms. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan.
Proceeded in death by his grandparents Weir and Doris Kenney and Raymond and Beatrice Bowles, a brother Mike and aunt Gloria, three uncles Clifford, Pat and Bill, as well as three cousins J.R., Sue Ellen, and Larissa. Along with his parents Doug is survived by family members including his wife Jennifer whom he maintained an unwavering love and devotion to. His mother in law Sandy Cool, his children Caleb Kenney (Kyle), Kim Redden (Taylor) and Brandon and Logan Smith, and the apple of pawpaw's eye his precious little Brooklynn. His brothers Dexter Thompson, Nicky Walton (Pearl), Keith and Doug Belmont. Sisters Krissy Moores (Jimmy), Aimee Athey (Chad) and Kelli Kenney. He has a host of family and friends too numerous to list but know that he loved them all and thought of them often.
We mourn the loss of Douglas and we encourage those who knew him to remember his laughter, his jokes, his infectious smile that he always wanted to share.
