Bud Malcolm Lively Sr.

February 8, 1940 — April 15, 2019

Bud Malcolm Lively, Sr., 79, a devoted father and husband, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley , WV. Born February 8, 1940, in Pax, he was the son of the late L. C. Lively, Jr., and Emogene Davis Lively.

Bud was a graduate of Pax High School in 1958 and attended Beckley College before beginning work in the electronics field, eventually serving as superintendent of maintenance and instrumentation at Anheuser-Busch in Jacksonville, FL. for 25 years. He was an active member of the United Methodist Church both in Jacksonville, FL. and Pax. With his wife, Joe Ann, Bud served on the Pax Reunion Committee for over seventeen years.

His wife, Joe Ann Phillips Lively preceded him in death.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son and daughter-in-law, Malcolm and Kathryn Lively and one granddaughter, Geneva, all of Virginia Beach, Va.


Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Pastor Mervin Sizemore officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Long Branch United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 148 Pax, WV 25904.
