Emblem

Biddle Franklin Williams, Sr. 87, of Pax, WV. took the masters hand on his 87 birthday January 5, 2024 and entered the Kingdom of Heaven surrounded by his family at PMC in Oak Hill.

Born January 5, 1937 in Long Branch, WV he was the son of the late Bob and Violet  Williams.

Biddle was a 1955 graduate of Pax High School, where he played on the basketball team and was President of his Junior class.

Upon graduation he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Traveling the world on the John R. Pierce Naval Ship. He always had a story of the many countries he visited.

In November 1961 he married the love of his life Martha "Libby" Williams. They made their home in Long Branch, WV where they had 4 children.

Biddle (Dad) was one of the kindest loving souls you would ever meet. He was very involved with his community and church family.

He was on the Pax reunion committee, and the Pax Regional Community Center. He among his friends signed obtaining the school from the Board of Education. He was a caretaker for the family Dock Lively Cemetery.

Biddle attended Long Branch United Methodist Church. He loved and lived his life for the Lord. Biddle's life truly showed in his everyday life. There was nothing he wouldn't do for anyone.

He plowed many gardens for friends and family. It was not surprising to see him driving down the road on his red Massey Ferguson Farm Tractor..

Biddle's greatest joy in life was his family. He loved big holiday get togethers. Watching his grandsons play sports. Getting hugs from his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He rode each one on his big farm tractor and lawn mower.

He could do and fix anything. Teaching his grandsons and son in laws many trades.

Biddle was a dedicated employee at the V.A. Hospital for over 30 years before his retirement.

Biddle is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Martha Williams "Libby". 3 daughters, Crystal Wriston (Greg), Julia Work (Don), and Susan Turner; grandchildren Jason Mullins (Ashley), Geneva Blake (Justin). Justin Williams (Becky), Andrew Work, and Joshua Newsom; great grandchildren, Kailey Mullins, Emma Mullins, Zoe Blake, Jackson Blake, Eric Williams, and Abigail Williams; and many family and friends.

He is preceded in death by parents, Bob and Violet Williams; son, Biddle Williams, Jr. (just 4 months ago); sister, Reba Alderman; brother, Ted Williams; and granddaughter, Amanda Mullins.

We would like to thank the ER and 1st floor nursing staff at PMC for their kindness and respect to us and our dad in his last hours. We would also like to thank the staff at the Oak Hill Place and Mary's Garden.
