Betty Jane (Epperson) Hess-Thomas, 90, of Oak Hill passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at CAMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV.
Born December 16,1934 in Logan, WV she was the daughter of the late Rex and Geneva (Smith) Epperson.
Betty had many traits working in book keeping in Baltimore and Oak Hill Hospital, worked for WJLS and WOAY for TV and Radio News; and also worked as the church secretary. In her leisure she enjoyed doll making, sewing, quilting, watching college football especially her West Virginia Mountaineers who she was an avid fan of, and most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband, Russell Lee Hess; second husband, John Thomas; son, Billy Hess; and brother, David Epperson.
Those left to cherish her wonderful memory include her three daughters, Joni Green (Thomas), Ginger Pembroke (David), and Rhonda Hess; 5 grandchildren, Tomara McGinnis (John John), Jeffery Thomas, Tara Harper, Samantha Hess, and Victoria Callahan; numerous great grandchildren; and sister, Barbara Copn.
Funeral service will be 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Larry Lein and Pastor Rueggy Copn officiating. Burial will follow at the Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville, WV.
Visitation for friends will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations of sympathy be made to the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene 3221 E. Main Street Oak Hill WV, 25901.
