Bettie Lee Puckett Day, 88, of Oak Hill passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020, at Montgomery General Hospital.
Born September 1, 1931, in Kilsyth, she was the daughter of the late Charles Richard and Hazel Charlotte Bibb Puckett.
Bettie worked as an Administrative Secretary for Cabot Gas Company and WOAY AM Radio. She was a member of the Mount Hope Christian Church, a graduate of Mount Hope High School, and in 1948 was crowned Miss Mustang.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Patrick Day; brothers, Charles “Buster”, Cecil Everett, and Don Puckett; sisters, Charlotte Puckett Bookman, Margaret Louise Puckett Beirne, and Lois Puckett Tyree.
Those left to cherish her memory include daughter, Cindy Abbot (Mathew); son, Mike Day (Carol); grandchildren, Levi Day (Lindsey), Katlyn Day, Sam Abbot, and Tate Abbot; great grandchildren, Marleigh Day and Kendall Day; brother, Jim Puckett; and sister, Sonja Puckett Lohmar.
Funeral service will be 6:00 PM Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Mother Maggie Blanchard officiating. Visitation for friends will be 2 hours prior to service.
Graveside rites and Burial will be 11:00 AM Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
