Aubrey Carl Allen, age 100 passed away at his home surrounded by family on Saturday April 27th, 2024.  Aubrey was born to John Carl Allen and Posey Nugen Allen on December 9th 1923 in Dunloup, WV.  He graduated from Oak Hill High School and joined the Army on his 18th birthday.  He later became a paratrooper in both the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army Air Corps from 1942-1949. He was proud to serve his country but never boastful. After coming home from service, he was a plumber with his father before beginning his trade as a carpenter.  

Aubrey Married June Estep April 13th, 1952, where they continued to live in Oak Hill and raise their 4 daughters, Anita, Angelia (Angel), Shawna and Marissa (Missy).  When June passed away Aubrey was blessed to find love again with Sylvia.  Aubrey and Sylvia were wed in 1996 where he gained three sons and another daughter.  Bobby, Steve, Kelvin and Kathy. After retiring, Aubrey loved to spend time in his wood shop (he was a master carpenter) He also loved quilting, whittling, gardening and doing puzzles. He loved helping anyone who would call, whether it be to help build/make something or even in his later years where he was asked to "supervise" a project.  He would always be there to help.  

Aubrey is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Posey Allen, Brother Bill Allen, and sisters Eva Allen and Helen Costy.  His wife June Allen and his grandson Logan Tincher.  He is survived by his beloved wife Sylvia Lawson Holliday Allen and stepchildren Bob (Molly) Holliday, Steve (Kelly) Holliday, Kathy Eddy, and Kelvin (Betty) Holliday.  Brothers-in law Alvin (Marguerite) Lawson and Gerald (Gail) Lawson. His daughters Anita Trimble, Angel (Harvy) Spears, Shawna (Stacy) Sparks and Marissa Walcott.  Many grandchildren and great grandchildren including the immediate grandchildren Tyler Holliday, Jordan Holliday, Tim Holliday, Chris Eddy, Kelsey Eddy, Matt Holliday, Amy Holiday, Cliff Robinson, Owen Robinson, Aubrey/ Eli (Kaylin) Sparks, Noah (Kyler) Sparks, Grace Sparks, Eve Sparks, Jonah Sparks, Gideon Sparks, Bridgette (Robbie) Miller, Robin Trimble, Justin Trimble, Marissa/Missy Walcott, Brycen Sursely and Colton Walcott.

Donations made in memory can be made to Oak Hill Baptist Church or Hospice of Southern West Virginia

Pallbearers will be Aubrey/Eli Sparks, Clifford Robinson, Brycen Sursely, Nathan Keith, Colton Walcott, Jonah Sparks, Gideon Sparks, Matt Holliday

Funeral service will be 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Oak Hill Baptist Church in Oak Hill with Pastor Sam Blaylock and Jack Crosier officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Oak Hill.

Visitation for friends will be from 12:30 PM until 3:00 PM on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Oak Hill Baptist Church.
