Alfred "Nick" Garland Hall

Alfred Garland Hall (Nick), 81, of Mossy, WV passed away after a long illness on August 15, 2025, at Bower’s Hospice House in Beckley, WV. 

He was a Vietnam Veteran and disabled coal miner. Nick was an avid hunter and loved to be outdoors.

Born April 24, 1944, in Mossy, WV, Nick was the son of the late Joe Hall and Tinis Rinehart Tyree Hall of Mossy, WV. 

Nick was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters: Wanda Tyree Thompson, William B. Tyree Jr., Rosemary Tyree Waldron, Billy K. Tyree. Forest Wayne Hall, Deleta Jane Hall Bell, and Donna Sue Hall Christenson. 

Survivors include his loving wife, of 58 years, Joyce Wriston Hall of Mossy, WV and one brother, Joey Hall of Mossy, WV. Nick left behind three sons: Garland Dewayne Hall and wife Tracey of Fayetteville, WV, Gregory Lee Hall and wife Tiffany of Luray, VA, and Clinton Heath Hall of Mossy, WV. Nick also left behind four grandsons: Nicholas D. Hall and wife Taylor of Oak Hill, WV, Noah J. Hall and partner Sidney of Oak Hill, WV, Payton J. Hall of Fayetteville, WV, and Tyler L. Hall of Luray, VA. Nick also left behind three granddaughters: Savannah M. Hall of Luray, VA, Amber C. Hall of NC, and also very special to his heart is his granddaughter and adopted daughter Jewlieanna S. Hall of Mossy, WV. Additionally, Nick has two great grandsons Max and Alexnder of NC. Nick also has two sisters in law Marilyn E. Wriston Dravenstott and husband Kimer of Oak Hill, WV and Rosa L. Wriston Hundley of Oak Hill, WV. Nick also has two brothers in law Joe W. Wriston and wife Carolyn of Mossy, WV and Kenneth B. Wriston of Mossy, WV. Nick had many nieces and nephews he loved dearly. Nick had so many good people in his life and around him he that was able to call friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Pastor Aaron Davidson. Burial will follow at Rinehart Cemetery in Mossy, WV.

Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the funeral home in Oak Hill.
