Our precious wife, mother and grandmother, Yvonna L. Harvey Backus, 84, of Scarbro, WV died on Tuesday, July 06, 2021 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.
Born October 31, 1936 in Sandstone, WV she was the daughter of the late Arthie Omar and Lura Jane Adkins Ward.
Yvonna loved everyone and was the most wonderful person you would ever meet. She even liked her landlord. A homemaker, she enjoyed spending time with her husband and the family she cared so much for. She liked watching John Wayne and Christian themed movies. We, her family, wish you could have meet her - you would have loved her and received love in return. God bless you.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Hazel E. Harvey; daughters, Arlena Webb Roberts and Carol Jennings; infant son; brothers, Johnny Blackburn, Joe Ward, Henry Ward, Sidney Ward and Albert Ward; and sisters, Lucille Strickland, Louise Garrett, Rosella Rose and Delores Gardner.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband of over twenty-two years, William Backus; son, Billy Ray Harvey (Amanda); grandchildren, Carol, Virginia (Mark), Michael Jennings (Nancy), Michael, Wayne, Conway (Betty), Cathy and Michael; great grandchildren, Jessica, Mary, Jacob, Bachi, William, Gary, Shawn, Christian, Hosanna, Michael, Jacob and Kaitlyn; and Helen.
Services will be on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Larry Humphrey officiating Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
