Wayne Thomas Hughes, 74, of New London, OH died Saturday, May 22, 2021 at home.
Born on May 21, 1947 in Page, WV, he was the son of the late Thomas Jefferson and Elsie Elmira (nee Smith) Hughes.
Wayne moved with his family from West Virginia to Ohio where graduated from North Ridgeville High School. Following graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps.
He had worked for Lorain Rural Water for many years. Wayne was a member of the Isaac Walton League and always enjoyed taking a chance with a lotto ticket.
A brother, Paul Douglas Hughes preceded him in death.
Survivors include his sister, Karen (Roy) Keffer, of Wakeman; nieces, Jennifer (Joseph) Bottomlee and Julie (Robert) Shaw; great-nephews, Dustin Bottomlee and Matthew Bottomlee and Bryce Shaw as well as many other family members.
Wayne was cremated. His cremains will be placed with his family at Kincaid Cemetery, Kincaid, WV.
