Vernon "Denny" Dennis Peters

Surrounded by his loving family, Vernon Dennis “Denny” Peters, 87, of Florence, MS went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 25, 2017 short illness..
Denny was born December 23, 1929 and raised in Powellton, WV.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Carper Peters in December 2013 and his son, Vernon Dennis Peters II in August 2006.
Those left to cherish is memory include daughter, Vicki (Lowell) Poe of Florence, MS, and and sister, Phyllis (Ken) King. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren, Wayne Poe, Kevin (Terra) Poe, Vernon Peters III, and Jennifer (Marshall) Tincher; and great grandchildren, Nathan Peters, Cody Peters, Ayden Peters, Marshall Tincher, Matthew Tincher, Kevin Poe, Trent Poe, Ben Marino, Allen Marino, and Daniel Marino; and several nieces and nephews.
His devotion to the Lord, family, hard work and sense of humor will serve as an inspiration to all who knew him. He was a man of Prayer and practiced 1 Thessalonians 5:17. He loved being outside especially gardening and doing yardwork. When he couldn’t be outside, he was listening to preaching and gospel music. He will be greatly missed.
A graveside service and committal will be Friday, September 29, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity.
