Thomas "Tommy" Wayne Washington, Jr., 47, of Gastonia, NC passed away on Wednesday, August 04, 2021 in Gastonia, NC
Born April 16, 1974 in Montgomery, WV he was the son of Thomas Wayne and Susie Ellis Washington, Sr.
Tommy was a 1992 graduate from Oak Hill High School. After high school he enlisted in the US Army serving 13 years. During his military time Tommy was stationed in Germany for 4 years, also stationed in Bosnia, and was part of the Operation Iraq Freedom team. He was a proud US Army veteran. Tommy also loved coaching the girls softball teams and helping them out.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Lorie Summerland Washington of Gastonia, NC; parents, Thomas Wayne and Susie Ellis Washington, Sr. of Oak Hill, WV; children, Shane Washington (Rebekah) of Fort Rucker, AL, Taylor Delgado (Brent) of Greenwood, SC, Ashton and Summer Palmer of Gastonia, NC; granddaughter, Sophia Delgado; and brother, Nicholas Washington (Amanda) of Lester, WV.
Tommy was cremated and a memorial service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill, WV with James Washington officiating.
