Thomas Howard Summerell

Thomas Howard Summerell, 75, of Philadelphia, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday September 7, 2022 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, West Virginia
Born September 24, 1949, in Arlington, Mass. he was the son of the late Frederick Augustus and Anne Jane (Norton) Summerell.
He is preceded in death by his stepfather, Edwin Klump; brother, Robert M. Summerell; sister-in-law, Karen K. Summerell; and his cherished and beloved son-in-law, Brian Russell Meredith.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 49 years, Lear Rhealda (Ford) Summerell; son, Edward Thomas Summerell (Vanessa Lee Summerell); grandchildren, William Alexander, Anastasya Makayla, Dorian Xavier, and Madeleine Mae; daughter, Rebecca Anne Meredith (Summerell); grandchild, Brianna Elizabeth Meredith; two nephews, David and Stephen Summerell.
Thomas served in the Army for five years, worked for the FBI for twelve years. Following the FBI, Thomas traveled around with his family by his side for the U.S. Government from September 1983 -December 1997. Thomas retired and moved back to West Virginia. Thomas worked for Mount Olive Correctional Complex from August 1998- December 2007.
In keeping with Tom's wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with pastor Tom Lilly officiating.
