Susan Kay Hill

Susan Kay Hill, 73 of Scarbro, WV passed away with family members by her side on January 2, 2021, at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born in Buckhannon, WV on December 24, 1947, she was the youngest daughter of the late Charles L. and Maxine M. (Cochran) Cool.

Susan was a 1966 graduate of Admiral King High School in Lorain, OH. She later moved back to West Virginia where she worked 20+ years for Walmart #1360. While working for Walmart she gained several dear friends and enjoyed working with the public and talking with customers that came in. Susan also enjoyed road trips, and spending time with her family.

Susan was preceded in death by her husband John Earl “Jack” Hill, and brother John L. Cool.

She is survived by daughters, Tammie Blankenship, Amy Blalock (Buck) and Kathy Bowles (Harry); grandchildren, Ashley Bowles, Michael Taylor (Linsey), Rebecca Smiley (JT), Bailey Bowles (Fran), Katelynn Bolt (Tanner), Cassidy Bowles, and Jayden Thompson; and 11 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are step children, Chris, Mike, and Jackie Hill; sister-in-laws Linda Wyman and Sue Hill; sister, Charlotte Gray (Ted); very special niece, Tina Sumpter (Jerry); very special nephew, Teddy (Chuck) Gray (Teresa); special great-niece, Ann Arrington (Josh); special great-nephew, Colby Gray (Grace); beloved uncle, Roy R. Cochran; and her special friend, Lynn Lucas and the rest of her Walmart family.

Graveside rites and committal services will be on Thursday, January 7th, 2021, at 1:00 PM at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill, WV with Jackie Pittman officiating. Burial will follow.

Those serving as pallbearers will include Harry Bowles, Bailey Bowles, Michael Taylor, Teddy (Chuck) Gray, Colby Gray, and Josh Arrington.

Those planning to attend should use proper COVID 19 precautions by wearing masks and maintaining social distancing of 6 feet.
