Stephen Lee Richardson

With his wife and sons by his side, Stephen Lee Richardson , 74, of Oak Hill, WV peacefully transitioned from this life on Saturday, October 23, 2021.
Born January 14, 1947 in Charleston, WV he was the son of the late Dennis and Emma Jean Arrington Richardson.
Steve was a 1964 graduate of Collins High School in Oak Hill and Center College in Charleston. He was a US Air Force veteran ~ serving from 1966 to 1969. He served on the Board of Zoning and Planning for the city of Oak Hill.
Working as a sales engineer in mine machine manufacture, Steve was employed by Long Airdox, Black Diamond, Fairchild Incorporated and lastly by Mining Controls.
A faithful member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Hill, this is where Steve worshiped, where he and Linda were married, raised their sons and where he took on many leadership roles throughout the years. To name a few, he had served as Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and teacher and church treasurer.
A quiet man dedicated to God, his family and his community ~ Steve Richardson will be missed.
He was preceded in death by two nieces, Carrie Beth Bowling and Rebecca Anne Richardson.
Steve's memory will forever be cherished by a loving and devoted family which includes his wife of fifty-four years, Linda Lee Bowling Richardson; two sons, Dennis Richardson and wife, Tammy of Lester and children, Amber (Travis), Kristen (Russell) and Bobby (Chelsea) and Glen Richardson and wife, Cathy Jo of Lebanon, KY and children, Harley (Chris), Brooklyn, Taylor, Jake and Savannah; brother, Timothy Richardson and wife, Darleen; and brothers-in-law, Eddie Bowling and wife, Mary Jayne and Mike Bowling and wife, Donna.
Also surviving are great grandchildren, Michaela, Emily, Victoria, Sophia, Ayden, Lincoln and Scarlett and Bentley ; niece, Andrea Nelson; nephews, J.T. Richardson, Ben Bowling (Marchelle), Jarrod Bowling and Christopher Bowling (Brooke) ; and many other relatives and friends.
True to his altruistic nature, Steve has donated his body to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Steve Richardson will be on Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Hill with Pastor Greg Swisher officiating. Due to the continuing Covid 19 pandemic, masks are required to be worn at the church. A gathering of family and friends will be held on the church parking lot following the service.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the WVU Cancer Institute, Office of Philanthropy, PO Box 9300 Morgantown, WV 26505-9300, Hospice of Southern WV, PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25801 or Calvary Baptist Church, 1424 East Main Street, Oak Hill WV 25901.
