Sidney "Sid" Preston Burns , 80, of Mount Hope, WV died on Tuesday, August 06, 2019 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born January 11, 1939 at Fort Springs, WV he was the son of the late Ray E. and Margaret L. Persinger Burns.
Sidney was a retired Construction Manager for Stafford Consultants. He was of the Methodist faith. He was a 1958 graduate of Greenbrier High School and loved hunting, fishing and NASCAR
He was preceded in death by his sister, Helen Ann Burns.
Survivors include his loving wife, Mary A. Selmon Burns; daughter, Rebecca (Grover) Vance of Union; sons, David W. (Wanda) Burns of Greenville, VA and Michael P. (Peggy) Burns of Union; grandchildren, Josh Burns of WInston Salem, NC, Clayton Vance of Union, Angel Vance of Union, and Autumn Burns of Charmco; step grandchildren, Devin and Logan Graham of Mount Hope; and sisters, Erma (George) Simmons of Lewisburg and Phyllis Burns of Lewisburg.
Graveside rites and committal service will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 9, 2019 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation.
