Rosalee, who was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother peacefully departed from her loving family on January 3, 2021, at the Oak Hill Place Assisted Living in Oak Hill, WV of natural causes.

Rosalee was born in Braxton County to William Collins and Alta Keener-Collins.

Rosalee was the mother of Diane, Frank, Gene, and Marlena. She raised her children with love and devotion in Fayetteville, WV with her husband Dana Pierson.

As a CNA and Restorative Therapist at Hilltop Nursing Home, Rosalee, was best known for her kindness, conversation and determination in providing care to patients. Her hobbies included spending time with family, reading, gardening, and canning. She was most proud of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Rosalee attended the Fayetteville First Church of God in Fayetteville, WV, and enjoyed being able to come to church, and loved being a part of the Over the Hill Gang where she and her husband made many friends over the years.

Rosalee was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dana Pierson; son, Dana “Frank” Pierson; her father, William Collins; mother Alta Keener-Collins; siblings, Carl Collins, Shirley Bower, Janith “Janet” Sponagule, Norma Campbell, Charles “Charlie Bill” Collins, and Carol Fakette.

Left to cherish her memory, Rosalee is survived by children, Diane Redden of Statesville, NC, Gene and wife, Patti Pierson of Dexter, KY, Marlena and husband, Ronnie Fox of Fayetteville, WV; daughter in law, Nancy Pierson- Grosz of Lake Wales, FL; grandchildren Arik and wife, Stephanie Fraley of Statesville, NC, Misty Dawn and husband, Billy Jones of Winter Haven, FL, David Redden of Statesville, NC, Aaron Redden of Statesville, NC, Amanda and husband, Ben Dove of Fayetteville, WV, Adam Pierson of Bardwell, KY and Ryan Fox of Fayetteville, WV; great grandchildren, Aidyn Pierson, Kinzlee Dove, JJ Jones, Conner Pierson, and Claire Fox.

Aside from children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren she will be missed by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

As part of Rosalee’s final wishes her body was donated to the human gift registry at the WV School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg WV for medical teaching and research to further the education of future medical professionals.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Oak Hill Place and David Richardson of Genesis Rehabilitation for his care and compassion while Rosalee lived at the Oak Hill Place as well as Hospice of Southern WV in home services, and all the nurses and CNAs who provided Rosalee care.

Due to current COVID Restrictions and for the safety of family and friends, a Memorial Service will be held in her honor on her birthday May 1, 2021, at a location to be decided at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern WV at 454 Cranberry Drive Beckley WV 25801.
