Polly Ellen Smithson

Polly Ellen Tate Smithson, 91, of Oak Hill passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 3, 2022 at Hilltop Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born November 19, 1930 in Scarbro, WV she was the daughter of the late Harry and Lottie Fielding Payne.
Polly worked for 31 years before retired as a machine operator for Revlon in New Jersey, and she was a loyal member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, George Tate; second husband, Robert Smithson; and sisters, Marjorie Wykle, Sarah Smith, Betty Griffith, and June Rousselle.
Those left to cherish her loving member include son, Michael Tate (Elizabeth); grandson, Jesse Tate; and 2 great grandchildren, Ava Tate and Tristan Tate; a special friend Michelle Evans; and several other nieces and nephews.
Graveside service with burial to follow will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill.
