Phyllis Jean “Granner” (McGown) Kelly age 81 of Pax, WV went to be with the Lord November 10, 2018.

She was born December 23, 1936 in Maple Fork, WV to the late Wilbur L. and Goldie H. McGown.

Granner was a respected member of the Pax area, known as the “First Lady of Pax” for over six decades. She was a member of the Long Branch United Methodist Church, Charter Member of the Red Hat Society of Mt. Hope, and member of the Winola Chapter 59 Eastern Star for over fifty years. Also known as the “PR Person” for the family owned and operated business and local landmark, Kelly’s Korner in Pax.

Granner was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Charles and Minnie Lucas; paternal grandparents, Sandy and Roxie McGown; father and mother-in-law, Raymond Sr. and Thelma Kelly; and beloved son-in-law, Rob Toney.

Granner is survived by her devoted husband of sixty-six years, Larry “Papper” Kelly; loving daughter, Vickie Kelly Toney of Pax; grandsons, Scott (Amy) Bolen of Pax and David “DJ” (Jen Davis, companion) Jones II of Waynesboro, Va.; great granddaughter, Delanie Bolen ; great-great grandson, Ryden Bolen of Shady Spring; brothers, Wilbur “Jack” (Maureen) McGown of Attlesboro, MA., Harold “Tom” (Jane) McGown of Reisterstown, MD; sister, Nellie Hudson of Oak Hill; “favorite brother-in-law,” Raymond V. Kelly Jr. of Hartley, DE; dearest family friends “The Lopez’s” and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Lloyd Arbogast, Mervin Sizemore, Rev. Morris Nutter, and Dr. Ben Lahay officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call from 11;00 am until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.

Family will serve as Pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Phyllis’ memory to Long Branch Methodist Church, PO Box 148, Pax, WV 25904.
