Orville Lee James

January 27, 1935 — December 4, 2021

Orville L. James entered his eternal home and was reunited with all his heavenly loved ones. Orville was born on January 27th 1935, in Marfrance, WV and passed away on December 4, 2021, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Orville was a resident of Fayetteville, West Virginia at the time of passing.

He was the son of the late Paskell Davis James and Icie Missouri James. Orville was a graduate of Fayetteville High School and was a member of the Fayetteville First Church of God, where he was saved on 9/5/2010 and baptized on 7/24/2016. Most people in Fayette County would know his friendly face from the Oak Hill Postal Service from where he retired and the West Virginia National Guard where he was First Sgt. at the time of his retirement. He also retired from the Fayetteville and Oak Hill Walmart where he worked for many years in the Sporting Department.

Orville served our country for six years in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his, brother, Kenneth James and wife, Judy; sister, Evelyn Nugen and husband, Bert; brother, Larry James and wife, Deborah; his father and mother in law, Rev, Louie and Evelyn Stegel; and many nephews and nieces.

Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted loving wife of 66 years Anna James; his beloved son, Danny James; his precious granddaughter, Katelyn James; and his wonderful grandsons, Jackson and Kaleb.

Also surviving are nieces, Joyce Fawcett, Karen Hildebrand, Diana Hogan, Sandra Price and Tiffany James; nephews, Alan Nugen, Shawn James, Kenny  James, and Chris James; several great nieces and great nephews who cherish their Uncle Orville; sister-in-law, Connie Ferguson; and many other family members and friends.

Orville  will be remembered by his family and friends for his  care, laughter and love for them. If you were his friend, you knew that he would always be there for you. Orville loved God, his friends and family,  He was an avid hunter - his son and nephews enjoyed  many adventures throughout the years of  these seasonal events. He had a way of making everyone know he was their loving and caring friend. Nieces and nephews thought he was their favorite Uncle.
