Mary "Dorothy" Marie Lafferty

Mary Marie "Dorothy" Williams Lafferty, 93, of Prosperity, WV passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
Born November 19, 1924 in Lindsay, Cal. she was the daughter of the late Henry and Gussie Beckelheimer Williams.
Mary graduated from Pax High School in 1942 as Salutatorian. She was an LPN of 23 years having worked at Beckley Appalachian Hospital, Southern WV Clinic, and Dr. Carl Larson Cancer Clinic. She was active in District 3 LPN Association.
Her hobbies included, crocheting, quilting, pine needle baskets, cooking, and seashell wreaths. Her favorite motto was bloom where you are planted.
Preceding her in death were her loving husband, Harry C. Lafferty; and two sisters, Violet Warden, and Lovell Stover.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving daughter, Anna Marie Hopkins; two grandsons Kevin (Beverly) Hopkins and Gregory (Melissa) Hopkins; great grandchildren, Leslie Lilly, Zach, Jada, and Damon Hopkins; one great grandson, Brendon Roush; special nieces, Teresa (Harold) Wandell, Dinah (JD) Lesler, Renee (Rocky) Cangemi , and Rose Mary (Issac) Ward; special friend, Loretta Adkins (Carson); step great grandchildren, Jessica Richmond, Nicholas Long, and Wayne Long.
Services will be 11:00 am Friday, March 16, 2018 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Pastor Fred Lovell officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Visitation for friends will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Bradley Presbyterian Church P.O Box 291 Bradley, WV 25818
Pallbearers will be Damon Hopkins, Charles "Trapper" Ellison, Wayne Long, Issac Ward, and Shawn Ward.
