Mary Magdalene Andrews

On August 27, 2022 Rev. Mary Magdalene Andrews of South Sandbranch Road Mt Hope, WV entered the presence of the Lord Jesus Christ. She was ordained and Licensed as a Minister of the Church of Jesus Christ June 20th, 1965 by Bishop Burton Harman. She was of the Holiness Faith. She was also a gifted song writer.
Mary loved to pray for the sick and enjoyed helping the poor. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crochet, sewing, canning; which she taught her family. She was the oldest survivor of the Calvert Family at the age of 95 years and seven days.

Mary was born August 20, 1927 to Charles Emmit Calvert and Bertha Mae Perry at home at Concho, WV.

She met the love of her life in Wilmington, Delaware while working in a Greek Restaurant during the War. They came to Red Star, WV with their two sons; the oldest Paul Jesse Andrews, the yougest Jesse James Andrews, Jr. , later the oldest daughter Danna Sue joined then five years later the middle daughter Dwanna (Sweetpea) then five years later Mary Bertenia the they were blessed with a son Rusty Dale Andrews.
Mary was a member of Crossroads Apostolic Church on Rt. 19. A member of the Raleigh County Commission of Aging, where she has a gold plaque under the Tree of Life. A longtime member of Senior Friends. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jesse James Andrews Sr. and oldest son Paul December 31, 2020, Brothers; Howard, Donald and Russell Lee Calvert, sisters; Virginia, Zelma and Hilda.

Mary is survived by her sons Jesse James Jr and wife Charlotte of Fairmont, WV, Rusty and wife Theresa of Rupert, WV, Danna Bailey and husband Billy of Milton, WV, Mary Bertenia Schiel and husband Jeff of Ypsilanti, Michigan and her middle daughter Dwanna (Sweetpea) Gibson and her husband Arthur where she made her home with for 12 years. Dwanna was her long time Caregiver Mary Lived a glorious life with love from her family. She was close to A.J. And her grandchildren; Susie, Jessica, Carlisa, Dallas, and Janet. Great grandchildren and great great grandchildren whom loved her so much. She was a Aunt to many nieces and nephews, Also was called Aunt Mary from the Gibson family who loved her so much. A very special thanks to her Primary Doctor Karen Hultman and Staff at Plateau Medical Group and former Doctor Eugene Evans who visited often, Debbie Barker who loved her as her second mother, Best Friend and sister in the Lord Mary Webb, Paulalynn K. Bolen, Frances and Kayla, Wonderful Neighbors the Gunnoe Family, Morton Family and too many Neighbors to list, Bradley Fire Dept for escorting Mary from Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope to Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens thanks to son Rusty and Grandson Dallas for being Fire fighters. Tyree Funeral Home for their compassion and ARH and Hospice House.

Graveside rights will be Wednesday August 31, 2022 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at 2:30 with Pastor Tim Vicars and Elder Pastor Jimmy Miller. Singers Kim Vicars and Penelope Trent
