John Benson Dean, 83, of Oak Hill passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley.
Born February 1, 1939, in Rainelle, WV he was the son of the late Jesse Ambrose and Elsie Vandetta Lambert Dean.
John was a proud retired United States Air Force Veteran after 22 years of service as a Tech Sgt serving in the Vietnam Era and in Thailand, also serving 2 years in Germany, he was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Princeton, WV, and loved being surrounded by his family.
He is preceded in death by son, Jesse Dean; brother, David Dean and his wife Anne; and sister, Andra Sue Gajdos.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Janis Elena Wagner Dean; children, John (Tami) Dean of Normangee, TX, Vincent Dean of Houston, TX, Rose Dean of Quinwood, WV, Diana Dean of Quinwood, WV, and Tara (Randy) Kincaid of Fayetteville, WV; 18 grandchildren with a special grandson Chase; 11 great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Trish Dean of Mary Esther, Fl.
Graveside service with Military Rites will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens in Oak Hill, WV. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.
