John Ralph Burns

October 29, 1929 - February 12, 2022

John "Ralph" Burns, 92, of Fayetteville, WV passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born October 29, 1929, in Indore, WV he was the son of the late Raymond and Mamie Susan Neal Burns. John worked as a coal miner for 23 1/2 years before retiring. After retirement he worked as a logger from 1965 to present, he was a hardworking man who loved to work. He enjoyed going to church where he was a member of the First Church of God in Alta and enjoyed singing. Most of all he enjoyed being able to spend time with his family. He is preceded in death by sister, Doris Inez Allen. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years Anna Holcomb Burns; children, Jeff D. Burns (Sherry) of Mount Hope, JR Burns, Jr. of GA, Dean Burns of GA, Kay Skebee of OH, and Doris Inez Vondracek of OH; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a great grandbaby that is on the way; a brother Bill G. Burns of Summersville, WV. There will be a private graveside for family only. The family asks that masks be worn at the graveside to stop the spread of Covid-19.
