Jesse Charles Sumpter

Jesse Charles Sumpter,38, of Dothan, went to be with the Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at his home following a lifelong illness.
Born December 2, 1979, in Beckley, he was the oldest son of William Charles and Janice Matheny Sumpter.
Jesse knew no stranger and he truly was one of a kind, his personality and outlook on life was contagious to all that knew him. He was sent to this world as a teacher of life lessons; he taught us love, perseverance, humility, and endurance. Although we celebrate his reunion with God, family,and friends, he will be deeply missed. Stories of Jesse will be told and memories will be shared for years to come from the impact he had on others.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Sarah B. Howe and husband, Matthew of Fayetteville; their five children, Kenneth, Megan, Gwennie, Rhett, and Stella; his brother, Shawn M. Sumpter and wife, Sabrina of Boise, ID; and their two children, Shane and Sianna; He is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill on Thursday, September 6, 2018 with friends welcome from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Friday, September 7 at 11:00 AM with the Pastor Paul Basham officiating. Following the service his body will be cremated.
