Jack Lowell "Cowboy" James, Jr., 59, of Mount Hope, WV passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley.
Born March 13, 1958 in Beckley, WV he is the son of the late Jack Lowell James Sr. and Barbara June Duncan James Underwood.
Jack was a 1976 graduate of Mount Hope High School and was a roof bolter in the coal mines. He attended the Maynor Freewill Baptist Church as well as the Gospel Chapel.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Franklin E. Cooper.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and adoring wife of 41 years, Karen James; son, Jackie Eugene James and wife, Lisa; daughter, Bobbie Sue Curry and husband, Wesley; three grandchildren, Kelsie James, Cierra James and Dakota Curry; one great grandchild, Brady Mason; brother, Roger Leslie James and wife, Nancy; nephew Jason James; mother-in-law, Emmie Cooper; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Brother Forrest Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
Visitations for friends will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
