Claude Cecil Painter

July 13, 1941 — May 13, 2018

Claude Cecil 'Bobo' Painter of Pax, WV walked on the Streets of Gold in Heaven on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at approximately 4:50 p.m. Constant pneumonia and its side effects, eventually wore this strong man out.

His life is celebrated with wonderful memories as a child of Rev. Cecil and Esta Painter, husband to RoseMary for 52 years, father to Sheila, Becky and Danny, Grandfather to Joshua, Jeremiah, Autumn, Kristopher and Tyler and Great-Grandfather to Matthew, Noah, Lacy, Lincoln and Finley Rose; brother to Phyllis and Jane.

He worked for Meadow Gold Dairy and then for Valley Bell Dairy and at the same time was full-time pastor at Sweeneysburg Baptist Church and then at Cove Creek Missionary Baptist Church. H is hobbies were fishing, snacking and watching TV.

During his working career he sustained a back injury that disabled him, which caused a sedentary life style and the past year he lived at Harper Mills Skilled Nursing Facility where he met the most wonderful residents and staff. We would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff who went that extra step to treat him like family. His remarkable physician was Dr. Wadith Kabara, who he respected and trusted wholeheartedly and at medical visits, it was more like a family social event because Dad always wanted to catch up on the progress and growth of Dr. Kabara's beautiful babies. We are eternally grateful to Dr. Kabara for being so good to Daddy and for loving and guiding us all like his family.

We also thank the very compassionate competent nursing staff of Raleigh General Hospital SICU and CCU.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his beautiful wife, one grandchild, two great-grandchildren that he met for the first time on those beautiful streets of gold; his sister Phyllis, his brother-in-law, Roger, best friend Harmon Davis, brother and sister-in-law, Bucky and Janice Meredith, brothers-in-law, Joe and Clarence Meredith and sister-in-law, Ann Thomas.

Surviving him are his sisters, Jane and Robert Wingrove, Sheila and Glenn, Becky and Doug, Danny and Angie, Josh and Amy, Jeremiah Autumn and Josh, Kris and Ashley, Tyler, Matthew, Noah, Lacy, Lincoln and Finley Rose, his brother-in-law, Chester and Glyda Meredith, his brother-in-law, Henry and Barbara Meredith, sister-in-law, Debbie Meredith and brother-in-law, Lum Toney, nieces and nephews and his Harper Mills roommate, Ray Lester.

His funeral will be Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope, at 2 p.m., with visitation from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Services will be conducted by Rev. Jim Bowyer. Graveside rights will be administered by son-in-law, Rev. Doug Holley and burial will e in the Pax Cemetery.

A "Kisses to Heaven" celebration will follow the family dinner.

A special thank you to his Chaplain David Jones for his friendship, love and support over the past year. What a special person in Dad's life you became; he was grateful God brought you into his path and so are we.

Dad's message is live your life fully, love your family abundantly and trust and let God do his work in every situation.
