Carolyn Fontana Troitino
August 9, 1925 — July 14, 2021
Carolyn Fontana Troitino , 95, of Mount Hope, WV passed into eternity in the early morning hours on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at her home.
Born August 09, 1925 in Herndon, WV she was the daughter of Italian immigrants, the late Dominick and Marie Massara Fontana.
Carolyn was retired from the Fayette County Board of Education and was also the secretary and bookkeeper for Troitino Coal Company.
She was a life-long resident of Mount Hope, a graduate of Mount Hope High School Class of 1944, and a member of the Mount Hope Methodist Church. She enjoyed decorating her home and tending to her lawn and flower gardens up until her early 90's.
Carolyn was the wife of Frank G. Troitino who preceded her in death in 2003. She was also preceded in death by six brothers - Lee, Mike, Nick, Pat, Thomas and Johnny Fontana; four sisters, Mary Benedetto, Josephine Pishner, Anna Payne and Camilla Spadaro; as well as Frank's son, Frank B. Troitino; and son-in-law, Jose Cavadas of Asheville, NC.
Those left to cherish her memory include daughter, Brenda C. Troitino of Mount Hope; Frank's daughter, Erundina Troitino Cavadas of Asheville, NC; Judd Stewart and family; sisters, Esther Chamberlaine of Vancouver, WA and Eleanor Fontana of Mount Hope; brother, Jim Fontana of Columbia, PA; as well as Frank's grandchildren of Asheville, NC; and many nieces and nephews of the Fontana and Troitino families.
Services and entombment will be on Monday, July 19, 2021 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Hope Mausoleum (#4) at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity with Pastor Richard Allen officiating.
While masks are not required, in considering the small space of the mausoleum we remind you they are optional.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to: MHHS Alumni Association, PO Box 98, Mount Hope WV 25880 or Mountain of Hope, PO Box 323, Mount Hope, WV 25880.
