Alfred Leroy “Sonny” Gilkey age 77, of Oak Hill, WV, passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Cabell Huntington Hospital.
Known as Sonny to everyone, he was born November 21, 1943, in Oak Hill and was the son of the late Alex Gilkey and Dorothy Pittman Gilkey Mills.
Sonny was a millwright and conveyor installer.
Surviving is his wife, Karen Elaine Blethen Gilkey, children Marie Gilkey (Jesse) Flores and children Cristina (Hugo) Octaviano and great-grandchildren Alexis, Mason, and Lainey; Ernie (Victoria) Flores and great-grandchildren Trey and Leah; Mark (Cathy) Gilkey and great-granddaughter Vayda Gilkey; Barbara (Tony) Smith and children Keira and Kiley; Justin Gibson; Mindy Williams and children Sierra, Austyn and great-grandchildren Kason and Taylin; David Williams and daughter Hannah Williams. Also, surviving is one brother, Lloyd Gilkey.
In keeping with Sonny’s wishes, he will be cremated, and no service will be held at this time.
