Thomas Gregory Kessler

Thomas Gregory Kessler passed away peacefully Saturday March 11 holding hands with his wife Lyda Renfro Parent Kessler, and his two daughters Paige Kessler Johnson and Elizabeth Kessler Cox.
A West Virginia native and avid outdoorsman he was born in Bellburn, WV on November 5, 1941. He was preceded in death by his parents Shamber Eccles Kessler and Frankie Bryant, his first wife Joyce Turley Kessler, his brothers Echols and George.
He worked for the U.S. Department of Labor and MSHA for 41 years retiring in 2011. He was the deputy director of training for all of MSHA in Arlington, Va. after serving as superintendent of the National Mine Health and Safety Academy in Beaver for 17 years.
He is survived by a large and loving family which includes his wife Lyda and her two children Kim Cantley (Jay) and Tammy Pittman. His three children Paige Johnson (Brad), Elizabeth Cox (Samuel), and Todd Kessler. His grandchildren Hanna Wilfong, Emma Hylton, Tucker Kessler, Brayden Kessler, Maggie Johnson, William Johnson, Eleanore cox, Emmett Cox, Jamie Bringhurst, Jarrod Pittman, Brittany Paitsel, and Kait Cantley. His great grandchildren were Riley Bringhurst, Raegan Bringhurst, Jura Paitsel, Aiden Pittman, Jayden Pittman. His brothers Everett Kessler and Maynard Kessler.
Visitation will be at Tyree funeral home from 6-8pm in Mt. Hope on March 13. Services Tues. March 14 at 11:00 am at Kilsyth Freewill Baptist Church with Rev Davy Duncan and Rev. Jim Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
