Roy Allen Gilmore

Our precious husband, father and grandfather, Roy Allen Gilmore, 86, of Fayetteville, WV went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the VA Medical Center, Beckley, WV.
Born July 19, 1930 in Rogersville, TN, he was a son of the late Walter and Jessie Lawson Gilmore.
He was a US Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.
Roy was a retired construction supervisor. He was a dedicated member of the Mount Hope Christian Church.
Brothers, Jim Gilmore, Gerald Gilmore, John Gilmore and Clarence Gilmore; sister, Mary Ellen Owens; and stepson, Patrick Barnett preceded him in death.
Those left to cherish precious memories include his wife, Ruth Spencer Barnett Gilmore; sons, Roy Michael Gilmore and Randall Allen Gilmore; stepdaughters, Debbie Murphy and Paula Martin; sisters, Dorothy Mable Gilmore, Charlotte Watson and Betty Ann Sanders; grandchildren, Caleb Gilmore and Seth Gilmore; step grandchildren, Tiffine Barnett, Tamara Barnett, and Jeremy Martin; and a great granddaughter, Harvie Rose Gilmore.
In a true altruistic act, Roy Gilmore donated his earthly body to the WVU Human Gift Registry.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at the Mount Hope Christian Church.
Memorial contributions may be made in Roy's honor to the charity of your choice.
