Richard M. Fowler , 90, of Oak Hill, WV died on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV.
Born May 25, 1926 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Archie R. and Carrie Moling Fowler.
A retired Gunnery Sergeant, Richard served 29 years with the US Marine Corps during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church.
A brother, A.R. Fowler, Jr. preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 71 years and 2 months, Dora Burnette Fowler and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Oak Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Blaylock and Rev. David Sneed officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity with military honors. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made in Richard's memory to the charity of one's choice.
