Reaford "Baldy" Thacker , 80, of Dothan, WV died on Monday, February 19, 2018 at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV.
Born July 17, 1937 at Pikeville, KY he was the son of the late Manuel and Versie Robinson Thacker.
A retired coal miner, he had worked as a miner operator and roof bolter. Mr. Thacker was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church, the UMWA, NRA and was a gun dealer.
His wife, Frankie Delores Webb Thacker preceded in him death on March 7, 1998. He was also preceded by daughter, Cheryl Ann Donnally; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest (Floretta), Dewey (Genieve), Bernie (Jed), Bill (Phobie), Mack, Don (Billie), Lonnie and Bonnie.
Survivors include wife, Faye Prater Thacker; daughters, Michele (Chuck) Bennett of Danese and Brandy Brady of Scarbro; sons, Jeffery Dale (Tonya) Thacker of Berkley Springs and Charles Reaford (Sherry) Thacker of Ansted; seventeen grandchildren, Eddie, Danny, Cody, Brian, Derek, T.J., Dakota, Faith, Maci, Aaron, Austin, Cheyanne, Levi, Zack, Eliah, Caden and Buddy; and seven great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother Gary Dean Thacker and wife Nancy of Akron, OH.
Services will be on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Pastor Paul Basham and Marvin Mullins officiating. Burial will be at Lee Webb Cemetery, Dothan.
Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Saturday, February 24, 2018, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
