Merriem Frisby Mccormick

Merriem Essel Frisby McCormick, 81, of Oak Hill, WV died on Wednesday, March 05, 2008 at her home. Born July 27, 1926 at Page, WV she was the daughter of the late William and Rose Sublett Frisby. Mrs. McCormick retired from the Fayette County Clerk's office after 30 years service. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Oak Hill. Being the last surviving member of her immediate family, a brother, Samuel Frisby and four sisters, Reba Frisby, Willie Burgess, Helen Wise and Evelyn Elaine Burgess-Burton all preceded her in death. Survivors include husband of 61 years, Cecil McCormick; three sons, Ronnie McCormick and wife, Patty of Oak Hill, Sam McCormick and wife, Terri of Oak Hill and Leon McCormick and wife, Patty of Glen Jean and one daughter, Cindi Carroll and husband Harold of Oak Hill. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Services will be on March 10, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Pastor Jerry Bush and Rev. John Davis officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Sunday from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, PO Box 1472, Beckley WV 25802.
