Leo "Tadpole" Lawhorn

Leo M. “Tadpole” Lawhorn, Sr., 76, of Oak Hill, WV went to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at his home in Oak Hill, WV surrounded by his loving family following a long illness. Born June 2, 1942 at Oak Hill, WV he was the son of the late James “Jim” Lacy Lawhorn and Eva “Violet” Toney Lawhorn. He was a retired construction worker and an attendee of Daystar Worship Center when health would permit. He is preceded in death by his wife Carolina A. Saienni Lawhorn, sisters: Bessie Humphreys, Florence Weikle, Ersline Burgess Riggs and brothers: Clinton Lawhorn, Clifford “Bingo” Lawhorn, Delmas “Toad” Lawhorn, and Elmer “Biggin” Lawhorn. Survivors include a sister Elmo Riggs and husband Sam of, DE; two sons, Leo M. "George" Lawhorn, Jr. and wife, Tina of Virginia and Lewis J. "Louie" Lawhorn and wife, Melonie of Oak Hill, three daughters, Florence Kees and husband, Mike of Oak Hill, Terri Harrah and husband, George of Oak Hill and Ruth Gibson of Oak Hill. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, Leo "James" Lawhorn and wife, Amber, Shelia Fitzwater and husband, Jamie, Angel Lawhorn Ramsey, Michael Kees and wife, Melissa, Tracy Lawhorn and wife, Christy, Heather Jones and husband, Scott, George Harrah and wife Anna, David Bibb and wife Amber, Chassity Honaker and husband, James "J.J.", Channing Randolph and husband Austin, Dakotha M. Lawhorn, Terri Lawhorn, Syrianah Harrah and Jonas Wolfe, Jr. and wife Nichole as well as twenty-seven great grandchildren; special cousin George F. Toney (AKA) “partner in crime, Fred”, three special nieces Prinzie Pyle of DE, Mary Ann Callahan of WV, and Carol Jean Briones of TX. The family would like to extend a special thank you to his two wonderful caregivers, daughter Ruth Gibson and daughter-in-law Melonie Lawhorn, as well as granddaughter-in-law and Hospice nurse Amber Lawhorn. A heartfelt thank you goes out to Hospice of Southern WV for all of their passion and wonderful care they provided during this difficult time.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Larry Humphrey officiating and special singer Don Morris. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Pea Ridge. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
