Coach James "Jimmy" Garfield Lilly, Jr. , 69, of Oak Hill, WV died on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Hospice of the Piedmont in High Point, NC.
Born July 06, 1948 at Gretna, VA he was the son of the late James G. "Jim" Lilly, Sr. and Lou McKown Lilly.
Jimmy was a 1966 graduate of Collins High School in Oak Hill, 1970 graduate of Glenville State College and received his Masters degree from WVU.
He taught at Ansted Middle School; was assistant basketball coach and head baseball coach at Princeton High School; and at West Virginia Tech was assistent and later acting head basketball coach. When he returned to Oak Hill, Jimmy assisted his dad, Coach Jim Lilly, with the OHHS basketball program.
Survivors include sister, Timmie Ann Korczyk of Oak Hill, brother, Kim Ray Lilly and wife, Traci of Greensboro, NC; nephew, Joseph "J.J." Korczyk of Oak Hill; and nieces Megan Lilly of Greensboro, NC and Kacie Lilly of Fort Worth, TX.
Memorial service will be on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 12:00 noon at Spirit and Truth Ministries in Oak Hill with Bishop Sam R. Calloway, Jr. officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. His cremains will be interred at High Lawn Memorial Park.
Family and friends are invited to attend a fellowship meal to be served at the church folllowing the service..
