Jackie Lee Toombs Sr.
November 12, 1940 — February 25, 2017
Jackie Lee Toombs, Sr., 76, of Mount Hope passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Bowers Hospice House.
Born November 12, 1940 in Minden he was the son of the late Galushia P. and Estelle Blevins Toombs.
Jackie was a retired welder from Ohio Brass in Oak Hill, and was an Army Veteran and proud to have been an Army Ranger.
Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by two sons; Jackie Toombs, Jr., and infant son Anthony Ray Toombs, one son-in-law; Kirk Thomas, and one sister; Betty Tupper.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted wife Elizabeth Toombs of Mt. Hope, one son; Jon Toombs of Mt. Hope, three daughters; Teresa Bonifacio of Beckley, Elizabeth Perdue and her husband David of Prosperity, and Susan Thomas of Shady Spring, twelve grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren, and one brother; Robert “Bob” Toombs of Norfolk, VA.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 27, 2017 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mt. Hope. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
