On Wednesday, March 07, 2018, Gary W. Stegel , 76, of Oak Hill, WV was lifted by the angels into the arms of his Lord and Savior.
Born November 21, 1941 at Oak Hill, WV he was the son of the late Rev. Louie P. and Evelyn Elizabeth Lucas Stegel.
He was the founder and longtime operator of Master Roofing Systems. A business man by day and a family man by night, Gary loved to spend time with his family and loved going to church. He was a very compassionate and generous person who was always willing to help anyone in need. He also loved painting and collecting antiques.
Gary lived a full and successful life. He left a great impact on those who have ever had the pleasure of meeting him.
He was preceded in death by brothers , Roger Stegel and Darrell Eugene Stegel.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all, he is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jean Carol Nobel Stegel; son, Wayne Stegel and wife, Betty Jean; daughter, Lisa Ellison and husband, Glen; brother, Damon Eugene Stegel of Chattanooga, TN; sisters, Anna James and husband, Orville of Oak Hill, Brenda Nester of Teays Valley and Connie Ferguson of Oak Hill.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Chance Stegel, Jeremy Wroten, Nicholas Parks, Derek Stegel, Jaclyn Stegel, Ambers Parks and Simon Parks; several great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Mountain View Church of God in Hilltop with Rev. Rudell Bloomfield officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 11:30 am until service time on Saturday at the church.
Derek Stegel, Johnny Nester, Brandon Nester, Jeremy Wroten, Nicholas Parks, Simon Parks and Chance Stegel will serve as pallbearers.
