Donald Eugene Bowyer

Donald Eugene Bowyer, 81 of Augusta, GA died on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at Doctor’s Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Born March 25, 1936, in Amigo, WV, he was the son of the late Hubert and Thelma Ann Humphrey Bowyer.
He was a member of Helen Baptist Church.
Donald was a devoted and loving husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force for over 20 years. He was loved by all who knew him for his wit, honesty and compassion. His legacy of kindness and generosity continues with his brother, four children, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. He joins his beloved wife in heaven.
He was one of three children including Bill R. Bowyer of Ghent and the late Margaret Ann Bowyer Sizemore.
Donald was predeceased by his beloved wife, of 55 years, Margaret Anne Robertson Bowyer. He is survived by his three sons, William E. Bowyer (Judy) of Augusta, GA, Michael P. Bowyer of Dallas, TX, and daughter, Karen Bowyer Crawford (Neal) of Norfolk, VA and David “Scott” Bowyer of Chesapeake, VA and six grandchildren, Kristin Crawford Beckner, W. Patrick Bowyer, Alexandra Crawford, Michael Bowyer, Robert Bowyer and Kayla Bowyer, one great granddaughter, Yorke Beckner.
Graveside rites and committal services will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, September 10, 2017, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity with Chaplain Paul Bricker officiating and with military graveside rites.. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation.
