Alex Ray Evans, 77, of Beckley passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018 at his residence.
Born May 6, 1940 in Cirtsville, WV to the late John R. and Gracie Mae Lester Evans.
Alex Evans was a master carpenter, lifelong farmer, and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He lived his entire life on the hillside farm on which he was born and died. He worked tirelessly every day of his life. His life's work lives on in the countless homes, and buildings he built in and around Beckley. He was uniquely generous and loved people.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Florence Elizabeth Perry Evans; one daughter, Lori Michelle Hughes (Robert); one son, Jason Robert Evans; two grandchildren, Cody Douglas Deal, and Robert Alex Hughes; and a brother, James Ab Evans.
Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Pastor Gary Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Beckley.
Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. To 8:00 P.M. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the funeral home.
